tomorrow we take the long drive to yakima becky will be there for awhile in a inpatient facility so that she can try and get better her min stay is 28 days but can but as long as 105 so i hope this helps her

huge update

so many of you if not all of you already know that becky is in the hospital in the icu at the uw medical center and its not looking too good both her liver and kidneys are failing her blood pressure is close to non exsistant without the help of medicine which is keeping it up her blood sugar is also freakishly low so they give her sugar water through an iv today is 9/10/10 they put in a pic line which is basically an iv but through the chest which eliminates all the poking in her arms she wakes up every so often and in severe dire pain so she mostly sleeps at some point this weekend she will be getting a dialasys cathater to hopefully cycle all the bad toxins out of her blood to pump back in to hopefully make the kidneys work again she is becoming to be more aware of things which is a good sign seeing that when she first went in she had thought it was 6 months ago and was thinking the hospice was there to see gram irene and then started to worry about getting wedding stuff done she is now at the point where she says she wants to go home but doesnt fully recognize that she cant because she is too critically sick but overall nothing has gotten any better its just progressively gotten worse i realize that siri and cori cant but if anyone feels the need to come up or anything we are at the uw medical center in the east wing on the 5th floor in the icu...keep her in your prayers

update

so i havent really been on here too much but i thought id give an update with my busy summer life on july 13th we hosted 33 canoes for the start of our journey to the makah territory the 14th i pulled from little boston which is our beach all the way to port townsend the 15th water was way too rough and 2 canoes flipped and lost their crews and the tana stobs snapped a line and got lost ( pronounced stobes ) few hours later the tana stobs was found flipped over floating and was retrieved coast guard made everyone else turn around and trailer the canoes to jamestown which is in sequim the 16th the water was doing between 8-10 ft swells and the wind was 25-30 mph the coast guard again shattered the canoe families spirits the 17th was worse than the 16th everyone of the canoes on the american side had to trailor their canoes to elwha which is in port angeles although the canadiens had perfect weather 53 canadien canoes landed at hollywood beach the 18th we were supposed to pull to pillar point which would be the last stop before neah bay but once again the weather wasnt permitting so me and becky and her family went home the next day it was as calm as ever and i missed the landing at the makah but i did go back for protocol on friday and just got back lastnight now today becky was oyster picking and she fell over and hit her head on the oyster beds and had a seizure from being dehydrated now she is sore and has hundreds of tiny cuts all over her back and face :( poor becky and our summer just gets busier more powwows to come the next one is in puyallup and the one after that is in neah bay

holy cow its soo hot its already in the upper 70s here and i have another pool to put up and start getting filled... so im going to be famous for about 15 mins in germany a camera crew from out there came yesterday to film our canoe practice so we had to work harder to put on a show for the germans it was way better from when jeff corwin and his crew came out the biggest difference was that the germans were really nice and respectful where as the others were a bunch of cocky jerks oh yeah 6 more day until the hosting in little boston

yeah i think she is planning on it and its funny you mention the camera guy bcuz Germany's Jeff corwin is coming on Wednesday so we all get to go be on TV in Germany its a different guy but its the equivalent of him and the discovery channel

facebook lately

so i have been on facebook lately but only bcuz i get the canoe journey updates there it coming up so fast theres about 2 weeks left before we take the long journey into neah bay we host on here in little boston on the 13th the tribes that will be coming are squaxin nisqually puyallup muckleshoot suquamish theres probably more but those are the ones i know for sure but all is welcome to come and watch if they want

nerves

my nerves are working me over now know that in a few hours i have to stand in front of a bunch of people that i mostly know but still for me being the center of attention isnt exactly easy for me

seinfeld episode

remember that episode where georges dad kept yelling serenity now? thats kinda how i feel now been a long day and its not even over woke up late couldnt find beckys id so there was a melt down and wanted to call the whole thing off because if we couldnt find id we couldnt get marriage license and if we couldnt get it today then we really couldnt get married then i found it and we were able to get it i hope this is the end of stress for today

one week

so theres a week left and i feel its going to be a long and stressful one

Port Gamble

so all weekend it has sounded like a battlefield gunfire cannons going off im getting sick of the booming....theres a civil war reenactment over in Port Gamble just across from the rez all weekend long i will be glad when it over although they started selling fireworks here last month so we got til august with all the explosions

graduation

today is delberts graduation although im not going :( but reason being someone has to put his party together so its ok

the EPA

so the EPA is coming today and we are taking certain key members out in the canoe which should be pretty fun EPA stands for environmental protection angency i guess the tribe gets a lot of funding from them so we will take them out then they will get a traditional feast which consists of salmon on a stick a clam bake fry bread and chowder so it should be fun

not going

so i just found out how to block people so i have decided to keep my blog public that way its a little bit easier for everyone

so yesterday was a fun day roger david and damon took me go karting which was awesome even though i lost due to an under powered kart still fun then we went to go see the karate kid movie which at that point in time damon ditched us for a girl which is fine didnt bother me much but on the other hand roger left his family for time with me and david so damons excuse didnt seem so credible to me then after the 2 hr movie david wanted fancy food but convinced him to go get some sharis then after the long hot day decided to stay in puyallup and went home this morning and took david and angie to the beach by my house so i thank my brothers for taking me out for a bachelor party that was actually fun

soo cold

so had canoe practice today in the freezing cold rain but i gotta get used to it seeing that the journey doesnt stop just because its raining it was kinda fun even though by the end we were all soaking wet cold and tired

bah they canceled the torch run due to the strom coming in which most of the crab boats were coming out of the water and thats usually a big thing i guess its supposed to be very windy which isnt exactly the best for little kids to be on the canoe so i say bah

my update

well i havent been on in awhile so i thought id give a small update as to what is going on been doing canoe practice lately because the time is coming up fast and with that on june 2nd we meet on the other side of the hood canal bridge and we will pick up the special olympics torch and paddle it across the other side which will be awesome then on the 10th a bunch of UW stundents will come and get to try pulling in the canoe for the first time so the skipper had asked me to come help them the wedding is on the 26th for those of you who didnt know im working on getting in to make appointments for the tuxes theres just a lot of things to do and such little time it seems

like the title says i moved this morning i woke up and went outside and could smell that ocean water/air smell where its kinda salty seaweed type smell anyways i love that smell makes david jealous every time i talk to him about it because i got the water and he has the pool he feels cheated for some reason anyways now that im back on track i moved from beckys moms house to one of her aunties house theres more room and i feel like i have a lot more freedom

practice

had canoe practice today it was fun although i was stuck on the right side so my left lower back is cramping up but next Saturday ill jump on the left to even that out but it was a good practice we had about 15 people show up so it gave the opportunity to go out twice hence the hurting back but there was fish jumping out of the water all over and one lone seal kept following the canoe both times which was pretty neat

so they person that usually take the canoe out went to hawaii for 10 days so she asked this guy to take it out except whenever its time to go he cancels so he wont have to which i think is bad bcuz we all need to be conditioned for july when we take our journey by canoe up to neah bay i really dislike this guy he has canceled over 8 times even on really good days like this

juicing machine

a couple months ago penny bought something called the juicer express and the magic bullet people made it so it sat in the back for a very long time so yesterday i got it out and started juicing now i have been deemed juice master and was woken up to make juice for everyone so they could start their days right by actually consuming something healthy in the morning so far ive made a few concoctions involving apples and grapefruit very sour but sweet at the same time i made one another with carrots strawberries and pineapple called the granny boost its very good anyways if anyone has any ideas for something good let me know

awesome morning

today i had canoe practice with the most perfect conditions ever the water was like glass and very calm it was overcast but not raining not too hot but not too cold just right we saw a lot of blue herons some seals a bald eagle we pulled from the point all the way to the hood canal bridge and by the time we got back and got the canoe onto the trailer the black clouds and ugly weather came but didnt do anything it just passed right over us which was nice

today is grandpa dovres birthday he would have been 98 yrs old i usually make it a point to come out today and on my birthday to visit but i couldnt quite swing it im kinda bummed but hes not going anywhere and i can always come another time

so hopefully this is the last week of taking mindless ferry rides to seattle

im sick of seattle

so its back to seattle AGAIN i hate it we been there all week wasting money we dont have on the stupid ferry now we are staying the night which i think is pointless and i cant not go because im the driver so for me its a lose lose situation oh well

exhausted

so today we went to childrens because chris was having surgery 3 different things done poor kid anyways i left the hospital at 1245 to get to the 130 ferry in edmonds thinking i barely made it the dumb ferry broke down but they wouldnt tell us anything we just sat there and waited so then the wsf said you will be on the late 220 ferry which was ok but had to have someone at home to pick up delbert off the bus i needed to hurry but was going nowhere fast the dumbest thing about the edmonds ferry is that there is a set of railroad tracks right in front of the terminal so the late 220 ferry turned into the 2 trains later 3 o'clock ferry im soo tired but i get to go back on the 835pm ferry yay (sarcasm) just to turn around to head back on the 1035pm ferry....$100 later

something new

so i broke down and have a facebook now but only using it for the canoe family so i know whats going on with it and stuff like canoe practices or cancellations which reminds me canoe journey will be stopping here in little boston on july 13th 2010 anyone can come watch many canoes from all over maybe even from canada come in it will be fun ill know more when it gets closer in time

crazy weather

crazy weather we are having today this morning it was frosty and cold and then a little bit later it was just drab overcast then it rained for maybe 20 minutes and now its really sunny and warm out

peace and quiet

starting today i will have ultimate peace and quiet until sunday not a soul to be found but mine its kinda nice

ugh

i hate going back and forth to childrens it seems like such a waste of money to me especially when we only spend like 15 mins there just to turn around and come home

finally home again

so we had a pretty hectic week one of beckys brothers went to the hospital so first we went to bremerton harrison which is the closest big hospital then when it came down to surgery time they decided that it would be better for him to go to childrens in seattle so we spent a night in bremerton and 2 crazy nights in the u district in seattle and we are finally home well chris isnt he is still at childrens but we couldnt afford to keep staying out there so we are home

stupid

so i got that stupid letter in the mail from the irs saying i dont have enough information on my return but it turns out that i forgot to sign the papers so i have to wait another grueling 6 to 8 weeks how stupid is that

the waiting game

its been almost a month and am still waiting for my tax return check to come it seems like its taking forever but its only been about 3 weeks

remember

remember the old white van how it was so big and bulky and when george would drive and not stop until the last minute in traffic and it would always scare the living daylights out of whoever was in the front seat at the time? well thats how becky drives her moms bigger more bulkier van and it scares me even more but i have to laugh because it reminds me of our old van in a way

spring time

now that its spring time we are in cleaning mode the rez goes and gets these big dumpsters and keeps them for a few weeks and anyone can take what garbage or whatever to them so its like the ultimate spring cleaning surprisingly they get emptied everyday thats how much stuff people have to get rid of every spring time i think its crazy

why

why do kids have a constant non stop chatter that never goes away it doesnt bother me but i cant get any reading done

so i keep getting told here on the rez that as soon as a loved one passes away 2 more will follow because they go in 3s ive taken it upon myself to say that these past 2 months are the worst 2 ever first gma locke then gma irene and now monique im aware that they are happier and in a better place now but it takes its toll on a person to grieve that much...

im getting bigger

so today is the day of gramma irenes funeral and i had to go buy some new clothes so im getting dressed and put my pants on which i thought and could have sworn that i wore a 36x34 size pants but apparently i dont and last i checked was a few months ago...im getting fat :(

well shes still holding on but by a very thin piece of string i have been at the house with the rest of the family since last night people are starting to bring food and we have a constant fire going outside so everyone can come and go or just stick around if the choose to hospice came and said she could go from anywhere to an hour or a few days from now but we think shes trying to hold on so that she can see one of her granddaughters who is flying in to come and see her its so hard because she was like a grandma here for me even though i have my own so its kinda rough having lost one to lose another....

i feel as though im suffering from deja vu gram irene is looking a lot like gram locke but fading way faster she doesnt know who people are and is in the state of just sleeping thats about it im hoping she goes a peacefully as gram locke

just when i think things are going good for me i end up being horribly drastically WRONG ill always be wrong

2 books down 13 more to go...there is a lot of info in 1st and 2nd nephi A LOT some of it is a little overwhelming only because i dont fully understand the teachings of isaiah but im getting excited for the things to come that i remember

canoe journey is coming fast

so this years canoe journey will be in neah bay which we will be attend and participating in every saturday we have canoe practice to condition ourselves for the long pull ( pulling is what we call paddling because you are literally pulling the canoe through the water ) it should be fun when i know when all the tribes are converging to this rez before we leave to port townsend ill let everyone know just in case maybe you will want to see what its like its really neat

new found time

now that i dont have that game to play i suddenly found that i have all this time in the world and its driving me nuts so im going to give carving a shot i have a few things in mind that id like to try maybe it will become a great hobby

what a surprise!

i told becky that i was going to go back to church and she said that she had a dress that she could wear...i hate to assume but does anyone think that maybe this means she is willing to learn or am i just hoping and shes just doing it because its something that she feels i want her to do

i guess

i guess having lots of family is better but nobody really is near me where i can take a short 10 -15 min drive instead its a kinda sorta long 50 min trip or in cori and siri's case 15 hrs maybe more from my drive I'm just exhausted of being stuck around a 14 and 10 yr old that refuses on doing anything by that i mean they would rather lay around watch TV or play wii all day regardless of the weather is like or what outside oppertunities are presented to them

so i play this game that i was very good at and some random person decided to hack into my account and took everything that i worked so very hard to get why must people do this im never going to play it again

so i been unemployed for quite some time now and just got word that in two weeks we will be back on the job although i dont know how long we will stay seeing that the construction field is at an all time low on this side of the water

the powwow

so another success of the 25th annual stan purser memorial powwow i worked from about 930am to midnight from the prep to the clean up and am still totally exhausted i picked up a whole new sense of leadership as the purser clan had to attend to their mother who is more or less like grandma locke well at the point where she was i prepared the fires for both the clam and salmon bake they had to go for about 3 hours then cooked the salmon and others put the oysters clam and crab together i helped crack the seafood shell open to serve the masses and at about 730 pm took over the overall powwow with the help of beckys sister to make sure that it went smoothly until about 1030pm i was so busy that i completely lost track of time and unfortunately wasnt able to make it to grandma lockes memorial but it will always be there and ill be able to visit anytime

coastal jams

coastal jams is where people from different tribes gather together to sing and drum it was kinda small to start out with but further into the hour there ended up being a really good turn out tomorrow is the powwow and ill be cooking the fish maybe help with the clam bake too

so gram irene is back from the hospital she didnt have stroke like everyone thought she did it ended up that she fell and broke her arm and was in shock from doing so theres just too much going on this week we have 4 clam digs 1 oyster pick 1 dig is for making money and the rest and pick is for the stan purser memorial powwow also happening the same time as grammas although friday night we have a coastal jam and thats when tribes from all over come and drum and sing then saturday i will wake up at 8 am and start the fires for the clam bake and the salmon bake come out for gammas thing just to leave to make it back for grand entrance that consists of all the native vets and the tribal royalty and theres the color guard and a host drum that usually plays for them when they come in its a really neat experience that maybe everyone can come some other time although during the summer there a bunch of powwows all over that maybe if anyone is interested can come to

so today was absolutely gorgeous outside clear sunny the water was a deep blue wasnt too cold you could see the snow on the mountains very clearly...so to explain my title coming soon pictures of the place i call home

first time ever

so here it is my first blog ever so with that being said i will say everything will run together i dont really like punctuation or paragraphs really so but the reason for this post or blog was to respond to what cori had said about grandma with all the memories of growing up what i remember about her would have to be this
*mom would go to work and id get to go to either gma and gpa dovres or lockes most often than not it would be the lockes
*i can remember having sleep overs at gmas when gpa would go to work we would come and sleep in the bed bcuz gma never ever ever slept in a bed it was always the couch she would use a couch until she wore it out and get a new one
*i too remember the candy which was everywhere and if we werent there she would come to us and always have candy on her in her purse
*when we would go to our ward at church and before their ward started we would run in and say hello to her but more so bcuz we knew she had a small stockpile of skittles in her purse
*i remember her very red bathroom that smelled of lava soap
*i can remember when me and roger,chris,dennis,and mike would jump on our bikes and ride them all the way down to gmas for something to do on a hot summer day only to have roger and dennis leave and uncle dick would come pick the rest of us up
i feel so fortunate to have a gma such as her she was very loving and never forgot any of us
i am very glad she was able to go so quickly yet peacefully at the same time ...i already miss her
